X user @Josh143574359 shared images of a dedicated recording card on the center display during a supervised Robotaxi ride, noting that “roughly 20 minutes of driving equated to 10% disk usage.” The unique recording options give onboard safety monitors tools to record telemetry and drive sessions, aligning with Tesla job listings for “AI Safety Operators” that include starting and stopping recording devices. Supervised rides operate in the Bay Area and parts of Austin, while unsupervised rides run in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. The onscreen widget displays live disk usage percentage, with options to unmount the drive, stop recording, or initiate a break-time cycle, using a storage drive connected via the glovebox USB port. Tesla recently removed blinker and hazard sounds from unsupervised Robotaxis and reported that its Robotaxi fleet has crossed 380,000 unsupervised miles, with fully unsupervised rides launching in Miami, Orlando, and Tampa this month.
