The first AI agent-related federal appeals court decision provides artificial intelligence companies a roadmap for avoiding liability under anti-hacking laws, though it leaves broader legal questions unresolved, according to tech attorneys. Attorney Jenna Schneider called the ruling "a good blueprint of what not to do," advising: "Don't let your AI agents touch the servers, and make sure that they are using user consent." She added, "But this is a pretty limited opinion in terms of what it actually does touch."
