Tyga has released a new alter-ego album titled *tarface*, inspired by early to mid-’80s music that his late mother played when he was a kid. The project, which he says gave him a "lust for life again after losing my mom," features sounds reminiscent of 1984 Venice Beach and draws on the Tony and Elvira love story from *Scarface*. Tyga wrote, produced, and starred in an ’80s movie last year and has a late ’80s soundtrack to accompany it. He describes *tarface* and Tyga as two different people, with *tarface* having "no boundaries and no rules," and he created the project without caring what people would think. He also noted that the album is for millennials and people 30 and up, who have responded with "This is my era!" Tyga is also working on an afrobeats-style album and has special events planned for the concept album. He defended using AI as a tool, stating, "There’s nothing wrong," and emphasized that artists should take risks and do things outside their comfort zone.
