WPP has announced a new frontier research collaboration with Google DeepMind aimed at developing AI-powered production solutions for brands and marketers. The partnership made its first public outing at Cannes Lions 2026, where WPP and Google DeepMind worked on a creative challenge for Duracell's latest global football campaign featuring the Duracell Bunny. The project focused on enabling the Duracell Bunny to convincingly lip-sync across multiple languages while preserving the character's distinctive expressions and personality, using new AI model capabilities. Alongside this collaboration, WPP celebrated a strong showing at Cannes Lions 2026, with VML's Lucky Fan Index for Wisła Kraków Football Club winning the Grand Prix in the Creative Commerce category and Gold in Brand Experience & Activation. Other Gold-winning campaigns from WPP agencies included Circus Grey's SOS POS for BCP, DAVID, Mindshare and WPP Production's r/eal reviews for Dove Hair, and VML and Burson's Oreo Cows for Oreo. The announcement strengthens WPP's long-standing relationship with Google.
