Google today expanded Gemini Spark, its background AI agent, to Google AI Pro subscribers in more than 160 additional countries while giving the tool the ability to browse Chrome directly using a person's saved logins and passwords, according to a post on the Google Keyword blog. The announcement, authored by Adam Coimbra, Director of Product Management for the Gemini app, and Charmaine Dsilva, Senior Director of Product Management, describes two changes: a new feature called Chrome auto browse, and a geographic expansion. Neither change is available in the European Economic Area, Nigeria, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, according to Google's support documentation. Gemini Spark first launched at Google I/O 2026 on May 19 as a personalized background assistant built on the Gemini 3.5 Flash model. With permission, the tool can draw on logged-in accounts and saved passwords in Chrome to handle tasks such as scheduling apartment viewings or researching flight options. Two safeguards accompany the feature: protections against prompt injection, and a design that hands sensitive actions like payments back to the person. Chrome auto browse is initially rolling out in the United States only, with plans to expand to additional regions in the future.
