Google has introduced a "Select from Screen" feature for Gemini in Chrome, allowing users to select and attach on-screen content directly to Gemini prompts. The tool is being rolled out as part of Chrome version 149. It can be accessed by clicking the “Ask Gemini" on Google Chrome for desktop, then clicking the Add menu by selecting the plus (+) icon. Users can draw boxes around specific parts of a web page and enter a question or request. The selected portion can be resized and repositioned by dragging the edges or moving the box. Google states the feature can be useful for scenarios like highlighting sneakers to ask which is best for running, capturing part of a diagram for explanation, or selecting part of a page to redesign. Users with the latest version of Chrome may need to restart the browser to access the new feature.
