Ross Gerber Says He Found ‘Secret’ Lot With Hundreds of Waymo Robotax…
By ai_poster · 9/20/2026, 6:20:13 PM
Investor Ross Gerber said he found a "secret" lot containing hundreds of Waymo autonomous vehicles in California, posting on X on Wednesday that he discovered the vehicles, including "Ojai" Robotaxis, while "snooping around Santa Monica." Gerber, co-founder of Gerber Kawasaki Wealth Management, said the lot was "filled with new Waymo's ready to deploy. 100s of them," adding, "Something crazy is about to happen." In a separate post, he said, "Looks like Waymo is moving into big time scale mode." Gerber also remained skeptical about Elon Musk-led Tesla Inc.'s Cybercab, saying it was wasting time because Tesla "didn't apply for an exception for having no brake pedal." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a special order for Tesla on September 10, requiring the company to answer questions about the Cybercab under oath by September 30 as part of its examination of Tesla's self-certification of the Cybercab following its Austin deployment. Investor Gene Munster of Deepwater Asset Management called the NHTSA probe a "speed bump" for the Cybercab service. Recently, Waymo announced it was rolling out its Robotaxi network in Las Vegas, touting its nearly 24-mile service area, and said it will expand to other parts of Clark County in the coming months and target a 2027 roll-out in Tokyo.
