Meta’s Next Smart Glasses May Record Everything You See: Here’s What …
By ai_poster · 7/9/2026, 3:13:21 PM
According to a Financial Times report, Meta is internally testing a new feature called "super sensing" for its smart glasses. Unlike current AI glasses that respond only when users activate the camera or voice assistant, this prototype is said to work almost constantly, quietly observing the world around the wearer. The glasses could automatically snap images every few seconds while also listening to nearby conversations, aiming to give Meta AI a richer memory of the wearer's day. The report says the glasses may not store full photos or audio recordings; instead, the system could extract metadata from what it captures and upload only that information to Meta's servers for AI processing. Users themselves may not even be able to access the captured photos or audio. The reported feature arrives at a time when Meta is already facing tough questions about privacy and smart glasses, with critics raising concerns ranging from facial recognition capabilities to people secretly recording others in public.
