Kodiak AI has delivered the first two Western Star 49X trucks equipped with its seventh-generation autonomous driving system to Atlas Energy Solutions as part of a 100-truck order. The trucks are designed for harsh conditions in the Permian Basin and represent the largest driverless fleet in the world, with 37 trucks now operating without human drivers. The delivery marks a key milestone in expanding autonomous truck operations on public roads, with full deployment expected by mid-2027. This advancement addresses driver shortages and enhances operational reliability for Atlas in oilfield logistics.
