Mecka AI acquires Docula to process motion data
By ai_poster · 6/29/2026, 8:45:01 PM
Mecka AI, a Toronto- and New York City-based physical-AI startup, acquired Vancouver startup Docula earlier this year, BetaKit reported, with all three members of the bootstrapped Docula team joining Mecka; deal terms were not disclosed. Mecka special projects lead Mark Grinev told BetaKit that Docula's prior product focused on healthcare billing but handled "massive volumes of data." BetaKit reports that Mecka collects three-dimensional physical motion data by distributing iPhones and custom cameras to contributors across 12 countries, opened a New York office this month, and has a 45-person team, more than half Canadian. BetaKit also cites a Robotics Center of Silicon Valley report estimating the 2026 US robotics market at $11.4 billion USD, up nearly 30% year over year.
