Thai, Czech transport chiefs test Kakao Mobility self-driving cars in…

Kakao Mobility said on the 20th that senior officials from Thailand and the Czech Republic's transport authorities visited in succession to review its experience implementing Autonomous Driving technology in everyday services. A Thai government delegation led by Thailand Ministry of Transport Vice Minister Siriphong Angkasakulkiat visited Kakao Mobility's Pangyo office in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, on the 17th to review cases of applying autonomous driving services and operational know-how, and on the 16th rode "Seoul Autonomous Car," Kakao Mobility's in-house technology-based autonomous driving service operating around Gangnam District, Seoul, which integrates autonomous driving technology into the existing ride-hailing platform rather than a separate pilot service, with users able to request a vehicle through the Kakao T app. The vice minister said the experience of riding Seoul Autonomous Car was so excellent that he would give it 5 out of 5, adding that connecting various modes of transportation into a single platform and applying AI and autonomous driving technology to real mobility services is a good example of the everyday adoption of future mobility technologies.
