Get AI Ready With SHRPA 2026 HR Tech and Transformation Research
By ai_poster · 8/8/2026, 1:04:34 AM
34% of HR leaders in India are actively experimenting with AI through isolated pilots across their HR functions, while 32% have already deployed it across select HR processes. Pushkaraj Bidwai, CEO of People Matters, stated, "Earlier, technology transformation had a transition period of four to six years, now, technology is changing every year, leaving us with a faster transformation cycle." AI maturity in India is dominated by organisations still experimenting with pilot programmes or no implementation, constituting 46% of all leaders surveyed, followed by 32% who have implemented at a functional level for a part of the employee lifecycle. Progressive organisations that have scaled deployment across HR functions or achieved enterprise transformation make up only 22% of leaders, a drop from the previous year on HR tech maturity. HR leaders are finding value through AI in hiring and HR operations outcomes, while long-term value realisation through learning and employee experience is not yet considered in investment decisions. The HR tech landscape is seeing consolidation under large enterprises and a fragmented market with AI native point solutions emerging simultaneously. Organisations are finding it hard to scale AI pilots, drive sustained adoption, and align stakeholders for collective ownership of AI transformation efforts. Bidwai noted, "Technology is not holding us back, our own capabilities are."
