On November 3, Wu Tian, former group vice president of Baidu and deputy director of Baidu Research, announced via her WeChat Moments feed that she has formally joined Sany Group as group vice president, dean of the Yun AI Institute, and concurrently dean of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute. Wu graduated with a master's degree from Zhejiang University in 2006 and subsequently joined Baidu, spending nearly 20 years there and serving as one of the early chief technical leads for the ERNIE Bot model. In November 2025, Baidu established a new Foundation Model R&D Department, with Wu appointed as its head, reporting directly to CEO Robin Li; in July this year, Sun Tianxiang, a Fudan University PhD born in 1997, joined Baidu and took over as head of the department, after which Wu was reassigned as deputy director of Baidu Research. Sany Group has set the goal of advancing toward becoming an "AI-native robotics company," and its Yun AI Institute is tasked with implementing the group's intelligentization strategy and organizational upgrade, focusing on deep applications of AI in scenarios such as construction machinery and robotics.
