Satyam Kumar, born on July 20, 1999, to an agrarian family in Bakhorapur village of Bihar's Bhojpur district, is now a machine learning systems research engineer at Texas Instruments. He first cleared the IIT-JEE examination at age 12, earning the title of the 'youngest IITian', and at age 13 secured an all-India rank of 670. In 2013, he gained admission to IIT Kanpur's electrical engineering department, completing BTech and MTech degrees. He moved to the United States in 2019 to pursue a PhD in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Texas. During 'Techkriti 2014' at IIT Kanpur, he was runner-up for developing amphibian robotics technology. He earned the 'Excellence Charpak Summer Training Scholarship' in France in 2016 and a teaching assistant fellowship from the Government of India in 2017. After submitting his PhD thesis in 2024, he interned with the 'Siri Speech' team at Apple's office in Switzerland before starting his career at Texas Instruments, where he works on AI and machine learning technologies.
