Elon Musk, the world's richest man with a $917 billion net worth according to Forbes, supposedly told Tesla Inc.'s employees to switch to SpaceXAI's flagship artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, the Information reported on Friday, citing a memo sent to Tesla staff instructing them to make the change when possible and citing Grok 4.5's lower token costs compared to competitors. Musk also allegedly asked engineers to directly email him with feedback on the new version. SpaceXAI launched Grok 4.5 earlier this week, describing it as the company's "smartest model" and "strongest model to date," created to excel in coding and agentic tasks.
