Toss Securities officially launched its "Toss Securities Open API" service on the 13th, enabling users to place stock orders and check account information through artificial intelligence. The service supports integration with large language models (LLMs), allowing retail investors without coding knowledge to execute real orders by typing natural language into an AI chat interface. Toss Securities has offered select features to pre-registered applicants since May, and the service is now available to all investors. Users can connect their issued API key to external LLMs such as ChatGPT or Claude to perform investment activities, including ordering, trading, and account inquiries, without separate coding. The API also supports trading of both South Korean domestic and overseas stocks through a single unified integration. A Toss Securities representative stated that retail investors without development knowledge can now establish their own investment strategies using AI and apply them to actual investment activities. The representative added that demand for designing personalized strategies using AI is expected to grow. The opening of APIs by South Korean securities firms has been accelerating, with APIs once primarily offered to institutional investors now extended to retail investors and fintech developers. Toss Securities' launch adds LLM integration to this competitive landscape.
