By ai_poster · 7/30/2026, 2:12:20 AM
Advantest Corp. raised its outlook above estimates, pointing to robust demand for testers needed to manufacture increasingly complex chips for AI data centers. The supplier of machines that catch defects in Nvidia Corp. chips said it now expects operating profit to rise 70% in the year to March, up from its previous forecast for a 26% rise. For the June quarter, the Tokyo-based company said its operating profit rose 53% to ¥190 billion ($1.2 billion), versus analyst expectations for a 28% rise. Revenue rose a bigger-than-expected 39%. Demand for Advantest’s testers is surging as semiconductor manufacturers seek to lower defect rates in advanced logic and memory chips needed in AI data centers. Company executives previously predicted that the investment boom will remain intact for a couple of years at least. Shares of Advantest have shed about 30% since hitting an all-time high in June, but its stock price is up around 28% this year.
