Code discovered in the iOS 27.3 beta suggests HomeView is set to gain support for third-party AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude, according to a leaker who said at the start of the month that ChatGPT, Claude and other AI apps “may” be coming to HomeView after spotting an unused flag for ConversationalApps, and who now says the beta of iOS 26.3 confirms their suspicion. The leaker said PebblePlay, HomeView’s CarPlay bridge, gets the Conversational Apps category in iOS 27.3, and highlighted other things discovered in the beta: the update also adds bidirectional audio routing, session management, and interruption groundwork, though it is “Still not fully wired up.” Apple uses these flags to determine which categories of third-party apps are allowed to run on the device, in the same way as it does with CarPlay. The same leaker recently discovered evidence that HomeView will be able to serve as a HomeKit security camera.
