AI search startup Perplexity said it plans to use Nvidia’s new Vera CPU, backing the chipmaker’s attempt to crack a server-processor market long dominated by Intel and AMD. Nvidia expects $20 billion in Vera sales by the end of this fiscal year. Perplexity’s enterprise infrastructure VP Nate Kupp said Vera ran AI-agent coding tasks about 1.5 times faster than traditional CPUs. Nvidia has also said OpenAI, Anthropic, and Oracle plan to use its CPUs, according to Reuters.
