Google’s September Pixel Watch update expands one-handed gestures and adds Gemini personalization, according to a support announcement covering Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4 in a staged rollout. On Pixel Watch 3 and newer, a double pinch can open notifications and perform other actions, including scrolling through Gemini responses, moving through Wallet cards and changing Maps views. The update also includes a wrist-turn gesture for back navigation and improvements to Raise to Talk. Google says the rollout is delivered through Wear OS 7 and may continue over several weeks. Gemini personalization can use connected Google apps and past conversations to make responses more relevant, with the watch experience depending on permissions, connectivity and the device model. Google lists different feature limits for different watches: some gestures are limited to Pixel Watch 3 and newer, while other update elements cover the Pixel Watch 2 as well. Users should check the watch notification and the Pixel Watch app rather than assuming that a phone update also installs the watch build, and carrier and regional rollout timing can differ. The one-handed angle matters when a user is carrying something or cannot tap the display easily; gestures reduce screen contact but still require a supported model and correct settings.
