A website called "Your Next" that predicts when jobs might be replaced by artificial intelligence has become a hot topic on social media, with users sharing results and expressing anxiety or questioning credibility. Entering "reporter" on the site produced an AI estimate of "3 years and 16 days" until the role is expected to be replaced, and the site displays AI replacement risk rankings and estimated replacement times out of a total of 752 jobs. According to "YOU'RE NEXT," the jobs in Korea deemed most susceptible to AI replacement are, in order, prompt engineer, data labeler, telemarketer, web publisher, data entry clerk, and translator, based on AI calculations. According to the Korea Economic Research Institute's "Survey on Youth Job Perceptions Amid AI Expansion" announced on August 18, 53.9% of respondents aged 19 to 34 answered there is a high possibility their current or desired jobs will be replaced or reduced by AI within the next five years, with 63.8% (315 people) of job seekers and 49.4% (685 people) of those already employed responding that the likelihood is high. A KDI report by Nam Chang-Woo estimated that 72% of all jobs have some tasks automatable at the current level of AI technology and forecast about 256,000 jobs per year will disappear from the labor market in ten years, recommending strengthened labor-management-government cooperation and an enhanced social safety net.
