Andrew Garfield, who stars as Sam Altman in Luca Guadagnino's OpenAI film *Artificial*, spoke at the New York premiere of *The Magic Faraway Tree*, thanking Amazon for making the film and helping it find a new home at Neon, which he called "a daring studio doing daring films." The project faced controversy after Amazon MGM Studios dropped it months after Amazon entered into a $50 billion investment with OpenAI; a spokesperson said in June that *Artificial* "will be better served if it were released by a different studio." After studios including Warner Bros., Netflix and Focus passed, citing political concerns, Neon acquired the film. *Artificial* follows Garfield as Altman during the 2023 period at OpenAI when he was fired and rehired in days, with a supporting cast including Yura Borisov as Ilya Sutskever, Monica Barbaro as Mira Murati, and Ike Barinholtz as Elon Musk. A new release date has not yet been set.
