Hyundai Motor Group has established a new "AVP Silicon Valley" organization under its Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) division, appointing Jeremy Ma—a veteran of NASA, Apple, and Nvidia—as its head. The move is part of Chairman Chung Euisun's vision for "city-level integrated intelligence," unveiled at the San Francisco AI Summit. Through strategic partnerships with global tech giants including Nvidia, Waymo, and Google DeepMind, the group aims to transform into a physical AI solutions company spanning autonomous driving, robotics, and AI-powered factories. In September, Hyundai will host the "HMG Tech Talent Forum" in Silicon Valley to attract top global talent. Domestically, the group plans massive investments to build robotics and AI ecosystem foundations, including the Saemangeum AI Valley (approximately $6.2 billion) and a high-tech industrial hub in South Korea's Yeongnam region (approximately $28.7 billion).
