Particle6 publicist Michelle Waldron said production is expected to take about a year. Norwood plays “an AI being with no body, no childhood, and no lived experience of her own.” Northeastern’s New College of the Humanities in London philosophy professor Brian Ball said calling Tilly an actor is “probably a misnomer,” as “actors are people — and she is not.” Tilly’s Instagram posts do not hide that she is “made of data.” “Misaligned” is a feature-length demo exploring AI’s strengths and possible pitfalls, with its title pointing to the so-called “alignment problem.” Plot-wise, the film is a coming-of-age meets ghost-in-the-machine story where Tilly lives “in the Cloud” and has access to the collective memory of humankind.
