Haut.AI has launched Clinical Studies Software, an AI platform that scores skin efficacy study results instead of using human panels. The company says participant cohorts can range from 100 to 7,000 individuals, and studies take only two to three days from setup to start. Haut.AI notes that traditional skin efficacy studies typically enroll 30 to 35 participants and take eight to 16 weeks to set up. CEO and Co-Founder Anastasia Georgievskaya said clinical research in beauty and skin care has reached an inflection point, with data collection and analysis tools largely unchanged for years. The company says manual expert scoring introduces variation, as the same image can draw different scores from different experts or the same expert on a different day, adding noise that obscures product effects. An AI model applies one standard universally across sites and timepoints, allowing studies to span multiple markets without sending trained graders. Haut.AI commissioned an evaluation at the Institut d'Expertise Clinique in Lyon, France, comparing its technology against a consensus panel of expert graders. The models returned intraclass correlation values of 0.97 to 0.98 for repeatability across five facial endpoints, which the company describes as excellent. These values held across three capture settings—clinical camera, research-site smartphone, and at-home selfie—for participants aged 20 to 70 years old with balanced gender representation.
