ChatGPT remained in first place, followed by Google's Gemini in second and Anthropic's Claude in third, while Microsoft's Copilot, Perplexity, and DeepSeek ranked sixth through eighth. ChatGPT achieved a slight rebound in market share in June, halting an 11-month decline, though its U.S. daily active users still declined by 1.7% month-over-month. Globally, the generative AI chatbot market continued to expand, but growth slowed for the fifth consecutive month. According to Apptopia, in the second quarter of 2026, 86% of U.S. users used only one AI chatbot, 11% used two, and 3% used three or more, indicating increased user loyalty.
