ChatGPT can now work across Slack, Gmail and Google Drive
By ai_poster · 7/10/2026, 6:32:34 PM
OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Work, an AI agent that connects with workplace apps including Slack, Gmail and Google Drive to automate tasks, announced on Jul 10, 2026. Powered by OpenAI’s new GPT-5.6 flagship family of models, ChatGPT Work is designed to move beyond answering questions by connecting with workplace tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Gmail, Google Drive, Salesforce and calendars. Users can ask ChatGPT Work to gather information from connected apps, analyse documents, create spreadsheets, presentations, reports and websites. Scheduled Tasks will allow ChatGPT Work to perform recurring jobs automatically, such as monitoring customer feedback, updating presentations, summarising Slack conversations or producing regular reports. The launch follows the delay of the public release of GPT-5.6, initially restricted to organisations approved by the US government for additional safety checks. OpenAI says GPT-5.6 includes three model variants: Sol, its most capable reasoning model; Terra, the standard model for general-purpose tasks; and Luna, a faster and lower-cost option. The announcement coincides with a broader agents arms race across the generative AI industry. ChatGPT Work is now rolling out on web and mobile for Pro, Enterprise users.
