According to the first-ever Gemini Report: Southeast Asia 2026, released on Tuesday, the Philippines leads Southeast Asia in using Google’s Gemini for customer support activities at nearly three times the regional average, and is the only country in the region where women make up the majority of the platform’s users. In the Philippines, 24% of prompts were related to creative tasks, while writing-related requests accounted for 17%, and 90% of prompts from the country were in English, the highest share in the region. Globally, Gemini has more than 900 million monthly users as of April, while its user base in Southeast Asia has more than doubled over the past 12 months. Around 40% of prompts in the region were focused on creating something new, and the region alone accounts for 5 billion images generated through Nano Banana. Other regional findings showed that 40% of Gemini users in the region are under 25 years old, and three in four Gemini requests came from mobile devices.
