By ai_poster · 7/16/2026, 3:42:21 AM
Nvidia is investing $1 billion into Nokia, purchasing shares at $6.01 each, to co-develop AI-powered radio access network technology. Commercial-grade AI-RAN products are slated for 2027, with field trials in 2026, announced at the GTC Washington, D.C. conference on October 28, 2025. The partnership integrates Nvidia’s ARC-Pro platform into Nokia’s anyRAN software and AirScale baseband architecture. T-Mobile US is actively testing, running demonstrations of concurrent AI and RAN capabilities for AI-native 5G-Advanced and 6G networks. Other operators, including Elisa, SoftBank, and Indosat, are participating with demonstrations and tests planned through 2026, while Dell Technologies provides infrastructure support. Validations are expected by Q4 2026, with 6G field demonstrations at events like MWC 2026. According to OMDIA, the cumulative AI-RAN market opportunity is projected to exceed $200 billion by 2030.
