The original version used time stretching and beat matching but often sounded similar regardless of the music; iOS 27 introduces far more varied and natural transitions, adjusting intros and outros to better match the energy and tempo of each song. The improved AutoMix is also expanding beyond iPhone, with support coming to Apple Music on HomePod and Apple TV through this year’s software updates after recently gaining AirPlay support. Apple continues to use artificial intelligence primarily to improve how people discover and enjoy songs, joining other AI-powered listening features across streaming platforms.
