Crusoe, the U.S. data center developer, announced a $3.9 billion Series F funding round, lifting its post-money valuation to $30.9 billion. The oversubscribed round was co-led by Atreides Management, Mubadala Capital and Valor Equity Partners, with participation from Founders Fund, GIC, Nvidia, the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Radical Ventures, TPG and other investors including Altimeter, ARK Invest, Baillie Gifford, Fidelity, Salesforce Ventures, T. Rowe Price, Tiger Global and Ribbit Capital. Roughly a year ago, Crusoe raised $1.38 billion in a Series E at a $10 billion valuation, roughly tripling its value in just ten months. Founded in 2018 by Chase Lochmiller and Cully Cavness to mine Bitcoin using natural gas that oil producers would otherwise flare, Crusoe shifted to AI data centers and exited crypto mining. It designed and built the data center campus in Abilene, Texas, regarded as Stargate's first site and used by OpenAI with Oracle. Customers include Meta, Microsoft and Oracle, while Cognition, Figure and Perplexity run on Crusoe Cloud.
