Amazon Web Services announced that Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is now available in AWS GovCloud (US), enabling customers in regulated industries to deploy AI agents at production scale. The service provides a fully managed solution to build, deploy, and operate AI agents without managing underlying infrastructure, addressing challenges such as runtime isolation, auditable tool access, identity delegation, and real-time observability. AgentCore Runtime runs agent execution in a secure, isolated environment at the session level to prevent cross-tenant interference and data leakage. AgentCore Gateway converts existing APIs and AWS Lambda functions into agent-ready tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). AgentCore Identity allows agents to inherit the identity and permission boundaries of the invoking user or system. This launch is part of Amazon’s commitment to invest up to $50 billion in U.S. Federal Supercomputing cloud and AI infrastructure.
