Anthropic Unveils ‘Claude Science’ AI Research Platform, Aiming to Co…
By ai_poster · 7/2/2026, 7:25:17 PM
On July 1st (local time), Anthropic unveiled ‘Claude Science,’ an AI platform that automates the entire life sciences research process, at the ‘AI for Science’ event in San Francisco. Claude Science is an ‘AI workbench for scientists’ designed to eliminate fragmentation by integrating over 60 scientific databases and tools—such as UniProt, PDB, Ensembl, ClinVar, ChEMBL, and GEO—into one unified system. A key feature is that it presents the analysis process and its rationale together, allowing researchers to directly verify the results. Eric Kauderer-Abrams, Anthropic's Head of Life Sciences, explained that automating repetitive analysis allows researchers to spend more time on fundamental research. In practice, a team led by Dr. Jérôme Lecoq, a neuroscientist at the Allen Institute, used Claude Science to complete a massive review paper in just a few weeks—a task that previously took nearly two years. The platform also tackles reproducibility by saving the code that produced a chart, the execution environment, a plain-language description of the methodology, and the entire conversation history as an ‘auditable history.’
