Kimi K2.7 Code, an open-weight model, is now generally available in GitHub Copilot as the first open-weight model offered as a selectable option in the Copilot model picker, providing more choice and a lower-cost option for coding workflows. Hosted by GitHub on Microsoft Azure, the model is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing. Availability is beginning to roll out to Copilot Pro, Pro+, and Max plans, with gradual rollout and continued monitoring of quality and performance. Users can select the model in the model picker in Visual Studio Code version 1.127.0 or later, Visual Studio version 17.14.6 or later, Copilot CLI, GitHub Copilot cloud agent, GitHub Copilot App, github.com, GitHub Mobile iOS and Android, JetBrains version 1.9.1-251 or later, Xcode, and Eclipse. For Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise, Kimi K2.7 Code is off by default, and plan administrators must enable the policy in Copilot settings before anyone in their organization can select it.
