MISOINFO Tech announced on July 30 that its VLM-based AI OCR solution, ViiX, has received Grade 1 Good Software (GS) Certification, South Korea's highest government-recognized software quality rating. ViiX is built on a Vision Language Model (VLM) architecture, enabling simultaneous understanding of text and visual information. Unlike conventional OCR systems that primarily focus on extracting text, ViiX analyzes documents and images comprehensively, interpreting layouts, tables, images, contextual information and key-value data to automatically structure unstructured content such as medical records, manufacturing work instructions, semiconductor and construction process documents, contracts and public administration records. The structured data can be used for search, analytics, integration with generative AI applications and workflow automation. GS Grade 1 certification provides eligibility for preferential purchasing by public institutions and qualification for certain government procurement contracts. MISOINFO Tech plans to expand into public-sector, healthcare and manufacturing markets and is preparing an AI OCR appliance combining AI OCR software with hardware optimized for Nvidia GPU servers and domestically developed neural processing units (NPUs), designed for rapid deployment with only power and network connectivity required. The company intends to supply the appliance to on-premises organizations in security-sensitive sectors including government, defense, semiconductor manufacturing, finance and healthcare, and is pursuing an AI full-stack strategy by integrating ViiX with its SmartBIG Management Workflow platform and ACTIC AI orchestration platform.
