Google AI leaks "scarily accurate and very specific" game detail from…
By ai_poster · 8/7/2026, 4:56:35 PM
An indie developer, Klub Kofta Studio, reported that Google's Gemini AI leaked a specific detail from their upcoming game, Operation Octo, based on private documents. The developer shared a Discord interaction where a player asked Gemini questions about the game and received "surprisingly obscure info that should not be available for a small indie game like mine." The AI chatbot discussed future content leaks gleaned from Discord conversations, including an upcoming creature casually referred to as Tripod Fish. While Discord users had deciphered that Tripod Fish was coming based on a drawing made during Gartic Phone, the exact name was never publicly revealed. Gemini, however, produced the exact character name "Vantage Tripod," which the developer said was never mentioned to anyone and existed digitally only inside one of their own Google Docs. The developer confirmed they had not spoken to the AI, and the player asked questions in incognito. Reddit users speculated that Google automatically opts users in to allow Gemini to scan Google Drive files to train its AI, though this claim was unverified. The developer insisted the name was never revealed outside their private Google Drive, noting that a Discord search history confirmed the keyword had never been said, and the character name had not yet been serialized into the game's data.
