OpenAI Academy is joining the Alzheimer’s Association, American Diabetes Association and Caregiver Action Network to deliver free AI skills workshops for caregivers and community organizations across five US cities. The AI Skills Jam for Caregivers & Community Health takes place on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, in Oakland, California; Tampa, Florida; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Atlanta, Georgia; and Detroit, Michigan. The in-person events will introduce participants to ChatGPT through guided exercises and support from OpenAI facilitators and mentors, with no coding or technical background required. Participants will explore how ChatGPT can help organize caregiver schedules and checklists, turn trusted educational resources into plain-language materials, and prepare discussion guides and follow-up resources for support groups, as well as finding local services including transportation and respite care. The workshops are open to individual and family caregivers, organizations providing caregiver education and peer support, and groups helping people navigate chronic or serious illnesses; people living with those conditions can also attend. Sessions cover AI foundations and safety, focusing on non-clinical activities, with diagnosis, treatment and medical recommendations outside their scope, and guidance on protecting personal health information and following organizations’ policies. Attendees will receive 12 months of ChatGPT Plus at no cost, breakfast and a boxed lunch, and a $75 stipend distributed electronically within 24 hours of the event. Each workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. local time, with the main program beginning at 9:
