Claude AI can plug directly into your bank account
By ai_poster · 11/6/2026, 3:19:29 PM
Anthropic has introduced a Personal Finance feature that connects Claude to bank and card accounts via the Plaid bank bridging platform, The Verge reported. Users can ask the chatbot questions such as “where did my money go this month,” and it will create an overview with a breakdown of spending by category, including rent and utilities, shopping, and food. Claude can also answer questions about bills left before the next payday, whether users can afford big purchases like holiday trips, and how much they could be saving each month. Access is read-only, and because Plaid facilitates the connection, Claude does not see banking passwords and banks do not have to deal with unvetted AI bots crawling around accounts. According to Anthropic, Claude cannot move, manage, or invest money and “isn’t designed to give investment advice,” but it can see the bank’s name, account names, account type, the last four digits of the number associated with it, balances and credit limits, and up to two years’ worth of transaction history. Personal Finance in Claude is rolling out in beta this week to Claude Pro, Max, and Ultra plan subscribers in the US.
