On August 12, Baidu Famo held its AI4S AI Day in Nanjing, releasing its AI4S "1+10+N" strategy and showcasing ten interdisciplinary research benchmark achievements spanning forestry, materials science, brain science, and fintech. The company also announced the launch of an AI4S Scientist Program targeting 100 scholars. On the same day, Baidu Famo and Nanjing Forestry University jointly launched China's first integrated AI-powered platform for early pine wilt disease prevention and control. Shen Dou, Executive Vice President of Baidu and President of Baidu AI Cloud, said AI is transforming research, education, production, and daily life, moving beyond improving information retrieval efficiency into real-world task scenarios. Sun Aiwu, Party Secretary of Nanjing Forestry University, said higher education must proactively embrace AI and achieve deep restructuring in educational philosophy, disciplinary systems, and research paradigms. Li Annan, General Manager of Baidu Famo Products, explained that Famo's core working approach is "humans define the standards, AI continuously seeks optimization," with its agent innovation core being "Learning determines the floor, Search determines the ceiling." The strategy uses Baidu Famo's self-evolving agent as its core foundation and connects universities and research teams through the AI4S Scientist Program.
