Goryeong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province will launch a pilot introduction of generative AI 'ChatGPT' across all departments starting in October, accelerating the digital transformation of its administrative work. For two months from October to November, the county will provide a paid ChatGPT business license account to each of its 34 departments and plans to discover practical use cases that can be applied to real administrative work. Earlier, on the 21st, Goryeong-gun conducted training for office managers and administrative officers at the county office, branches, towns, and townships, covering how to use ChatGPT as well as personal information protection and security. The session also discussed precautions for AI usage following guidelines from the Personal Information Protection Commission and the National Intelligence Service, along with strategies for public data quality management. Through this pilot operation, Goryeong-gun aims to verify the administrative applicability of AI, share outstanding cases from each department, and expand its use throughout all aspects of county administration in the future. An official from the county stated that generative AI is an important tool that can fundamentally change the way administration works, adding that the county will use AI to boost the efficiency and creativity of its administration and provide better administrative services to residents.
