The Moscow-based group of companies “Energoprof” fired its sales director, Yekaterina Remizova, for violating trade secrecy rules, including uploading internal reports to the Chinese chatbot DeepSeek. Remizova challenged her dismissal in court, arguing the company produced no evidence of a leaked trade secret and that the grounds for her firing were unlawful; she also sought a five-million-ruble “golden parachute” payment. She did not deny uploading documents to a chat with the neural network. Case materials show Remizova had worked at the company since April 2025, and that September, Energoprof disciplined and then fired her for disclosing information protected as a trade secret. The company stated she violated rules for handling confidential information, forwarded internal documents to her personal email, told a supplier about plans to launch its own generator brand (prompting the supplier to end cooperation), and violated the contract approval process with “Alabuga Machinery” by substituting terms in the signed contract text. The court partially granted Remizova’s claim, overturning one disciplinary order and ordering Energoprof to pay her 10,000 rubles in compensation for emotional distress.
