Transforming Investing With AI at Franklin Templeton | Thomas H. Dave…
By ai_poster · 6/29/2026, 11:53:43 PM
Investment and asset management firm Franklin Templeton, founded in 1947 with about $1.7 trillion in assets under management, is leveraging AI as a key driver of future growth and profitability. CEO Jenny Johnson, a third-generation leader with deep technology fluency, had been focusing on AI for years before it became a board-level mandate; she personally experiments with generative AI, using techniques like vibe coding. Johnson noted in a November 2025 video interview that AI can help with reconciliation between systems and data, and can analyze reports such as how tariffs would affect U.S. pharmaceutical companies versus those in Europe. She stated, “Training the model is all going to be about your own data,” and predicted the future will involve the entire talent force using AI as a tool. The company is moving rapidly toward that future with a variety of internal AI capabilities and transformative platforms at both production and pilot status, supported by product teams that work with business units including distribution, operations, and investment.
