Google Calendar this week added a quality-of-life update expanding event colors from "11 predefined colors" to up to "200 custom colors," allowing users to "personalize events and visually organize their calendar with ease." By default, all platforms will offer "24 default colors," with a full RGB color picker available on the web and Calendar API. The update, a "long-standing feature request," rolls out starting today and will be fully available in the coming weeks. Separately, Google Voice for enterprise customers added "Take notes for me," which uses Gemini to transcribe calls, summarize key points, and organize action items. The "Record" button is now called "Notes," with a disclosure stating "This call is being recorded and captured by AI." Admins can customize consent language in the admin console. After a call, the transcript, audio recording, and notes appear in the Voice app, with notes also emailed to the account. "Take notes for me" is available with the Voice Standard and Voice Premier add-ons, as well as Voice Standard standalone plans, and is available by default for new Voice users but requires manual enablement for existing users.
