VDURA and Wasabi Technologies announced a technology alliance to connect VDURA's GPU-adjacent, high-performance data storage with Wasabi's predictably priced S3-compatible cloud storage for AI data retention, protection, mobility and reuse. The collaboration targets AI factories, neoclouds and enterprise HPC environments, aiming to keep active datasets and checkpoints close to GPUs while extending long-term retention, protection and data reuse into the cloud. VDURA provides GPU-adjacent parallel file system storage performance with RDMA data paths and full POSIX workflows, spanning NVMe flash, HDD capacity and a native S3 interface within a single global namespace. Wasabi serves as an active archive and long-term retention layer, with predictable pricing and no per-GB egress or API request charges under its standard terms. The alliance follows a tiered data placement practice used by large cloud operators, pairing lean performance infrastructure with deep, low-cost capacity through open interfaces. Ken Claffey, CEO of VDURA, stated that data belongs on performance infrastructure only while doing active work, and pairing VDURA's performance with Wasabi's cloud layer provides a place for data to be retained.
