On November 3, a person close to Volcano Engine confirmed that ByteDance's video generation model Seedance now derives 50% of its revenue from overseas markets, with overseas revenue growing nearly fivefold over the past six months. In China, Tencent ranks among the top three Seedance customers, while Bilibili has entered the top ten, as leading Chinese internet companies scale up procurement. Meanwhile, a Nomura report citing IDC data shows Volcano Engine leads China's MaaS market with a 45.1% share, followed by Alibaba at 25.2%, but Alibaba dominates the LLM MaaS segment with 46.6% versus ByteDance's 10.2%. Nomura estimates Alibaba's MaaS revenue in the first half totaled about 2.7 billion yuan (approximately $405.4 million), of which LLM services accounted for roughly 87%, while ByteDance's overall MaaS revenue came to about 4.8 billion yuan (approximately $720.6 million), with LLMs accounting for only about 11%, meaning Alibaba's LLM MaaS revenue is roughly 4.6 times that of ByteDance. On the enterprise application front, Tencent disclosed that its office AI agent WorkBuddy has processed 9 billion user task requests since its launch in March, and that half of China's Fortune 500 companies have adopted the WorkBuddy enterprise edition.
