Nous Research is in talks to raise at least $75 million at a roughly $1.5 billion valuation, led by Robot Ventures with significant participation from Union Square Ventures. The round comes less than three months after the company closed a $50 million Series A led by Paradigm, bringing its total prior funding to approximately $70 million. The new funding would bring total capital raised to roughly $145 million, a 50% step-up from its reported $1 billion valuation during the Series A. Hermes, the company's open-source AI agent, has amassed roughly 214,000 GitHub stars and 40,000 forks since launching. The agent ships with built-in capabilities including web search, code writing and execution, and image understanding, and automatically learns from user interactions to develop new skills. Cloud-hosted tiers are priced between $20 and $200 per month, though the startup has not yet proven that model at scale.
