KPMG in India and the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) released a report on India’s events and experiences industry at EEMAGINE 2026, covering economic contribution, visitor spending, tourism, employment, technology adoption, and regulatory challenges. The analysis covered 108 events attended by more than 18 lakh people. The report estimated organised MICE activity at around Rs 46,739 crore in 2025, organised live events at around Rs 13,600 crore, and the commercial sports economy at Rs 18,864 crore, with wedding-linked household expenditure at around Rs 6.5 lakh crore. It cautioned against adding these figures due to different measurement methods. The Direct-Indirect-Induced model indicated every Rs 1 of direct expenditure generated between Rs 1.46 and Rs 2.03 in total economic activity. MICE recorded the highest multiplier at 2.03 times, followed by weddings at 1.61 times, sports at 1.52 times, and live entertainment at 1.46 times. Visitor spending contributed about 90% of direct impact in MICE, 96% in live entertainment, 88% in sports, and 89% in weddings. Restaurants near concert venues recorded more than a 30% increase in average daily consumer spending, and in-person restaurant spending during IPL 2023 increased by 25% on match days.
