Google India has launched a new campaign for Google Gemini featuring Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, using multilingual storytelling and everyday situations to make artificial intelligence (AI) feel more approachable to audiences across Bharat. Conceptualised and written by Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of Omnicom Advertising India, and developed by Google with McCann India and Nirvana Films, the campaign positions Gemini as a supportive friend that can listen, understand and help people navigate everyday decisions. The campaign is built around an insight that people may lack someone to turn to when uncertain, while for audiences in Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, language can create a barrier to confidence when using technology. The campaign closes with the line “Ab Dost Hai Saath, Khul Ke Karo Baat”. Google India said that while AI awareness is growing, everyday use remains concentrated among English-speaking metro audiences, leading the campaign to focus on showing how speaking to Gemini in familiar languages can make AI feel less intimidating for the roughly 470 million internet users across Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns. The creative approach presents Gemini as a friendly voice that helps remove barriers without judgement. Shekar Khosla, Vice President – Marketing, Google India, said the campaign speaks to the heart of India in its own languages, emotions, and comfort zones.
