Nvidia released the GeForce Hotfix driver 610 on Saturday, alongside new features for the Nvidia App that allow users to manually override DLSS settings in more games. These updates build on the introduction of DLSS 4.5, which began earlier this year. Since late July, the Nvidia App has offered a DLSS override function that forces DLSS 4.5 transformer models in titles natively supporting DLSS 2.0 or higher, with presets K, L, and M available. Presets L and M improve moving objects and foliage, with Preset L delivering the highest image quality at a cost of around ten percent performance. Nvidia announced DLSS 4.5 on January 6, 2026, at CES, featuring a second super-resolution transformer model with five times the computing power of its predecessor. The core update is a 6x Multi Frame Generation (MFG) mode, exclusive to the RTX 50 series, which generates five additional frames per rendered frame. The 6x mode is expected to roll out broadly in spring 2026. Tests on a Razer Blade 16 with an RTX 5090 in titles like Black Myth: Wukong, Crimson Desert, and Forza Horizon 6 showed dynamic MFG switching between generation levels to reduce GPU load and heat. On desktop systems, the 6x mode boosts 4K performance with Path Tracing by up to 35 percent on RTX
