LG Electronics reported second-quarter revenue of 23.8265 trillion won and operating profit of 1.5791 trillion won, both record highs for the quarter, rising 14.9% and 147.0% year-over-year respectively. Cumulative first-half revenue was 47.5537 trillion won and operating profit was 3.2528 trillion won, with first-half operating profit alone surpassing last year's annual operating profit of 2.4784 trillion won. The appliance business surpassed 7 trillion won in quarterly revenue for the first time, and the TV business returned to profit after being in the red last year. The Home Appliance & Air Solution division posted an operating margin of 9.7%, while the Media & Entertainment Solution division posted operating profit of 219.4 billion won, swinging from an operating loss of 191.7 billion won a year earlier. Results reflected a full refund of tariffs already paid in the United States; Park Won-jae, head of IR, stated the total impact netting one-off revenue including the tariff refund against one-off expense is about 300 billion won. Operating profit netting this out was 1.2791 trillion won. LG Electronics named Nvidia as a key partner to secure future growth in physical AI and AI data center markets.
